Minnesota Vikings Foundation Launches Vikings Table Food Truck
As a Minnesota based agency, we are proud of our Vikings. So when they reached out and asked us to partner on the development of a new food truck, we got pretty excited. But then, we learned the truck would be used to distribute healthy meals to youth in the Twin Cities who are dealing with food insecurity. Our response? SKOL, let’s roll!
In partnership with Xcel Energy, the Minnesota Vikings Foundation rolled out Vikings Table, one component of their goal focused on the well-being of youth through health and education. The truck will raise funds through the sale of traditional food truck items at Vikings home games and special events. 100% of the proceeds will be directed to the distribution of FREE, healthy meals.
The 39-foot, custom-built Winnebago was built and donated by the recreational vehicle company. The food truck is a zero-waste vehicle fitted with Energy Star appliances and rooftop solar panels. When the vehicle arrived at STAR, the shiny, stainless steel cooking equipment was all intact and ready for our team to apply the finishing touches. Exterior graphics were meticulously applied and the rear of the vehicle was transformed into an experience room complete with an 80-inch monitor for educational videos and nutritional information, and a photo booth. A visit to the food truck is complete when visitors snap a photo amongst Vikings graphics and share with the social-sphere.
Keep an eye out for the Vikings Table! This is just another great way that we can all play a part in changing the lives of young people here in the Twin Cities.
