Target / Askov Finlayson Partnership Launch

In the weeks leading up to Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis, local branding agency CMND+M came to Star for assistance with the creation of a uniquely “North”-ern themed launch event for a new co-branded partnership between Target and local apparel manufacturer Askov Finlayson.

From an iconic Northwoods A-frame that housed and highlighted Askov Finlayson’s product line to an outdoor bubble-hockey ring to a log and raw-wood “Gateway to the North,” the activation event welcomed visitors to a uniquely Minnesotan pairing of two local brands.

The Star / CMND+M partnership included co-designing, fabricating, producing and installing pieces for a multi-purpose indoor/outdoor space that was first installed in downtown Minneapolis on Target Plaza Commons for an employee event, then recreated for a public event at Theodore Worth Park.

Many of the featured pieces were so popular that the internal Target team carried them over into another Super Bowl project that likewise capitalized on the Northwoods theme [link to Lodge project].
