Emerson, a global leader in automation and engineering solutions, entered PACK EXPO 2025 with the mission to showcase its integrated “Floor to Cloud™” approach: connecting packaging operations on the plant floor through to cloud-based analytics and control. Their goal was to demonstrate how data-driven automation solutions can prevent downtime, accelerate changeovers, improve worker productivity, and support sustainable growth.

With multiple brands and technology platforms in the mix, Emerson needed a unified, compelling event presence that would highlight both high-end automation and practical, packaging-line solutions.

Vision for their trade show exhibit

Key goals for Emerson at the show included:

  • Educate packaging decision-makers on how an integrated automation architecture drives operational excellence.
  • Showcase live demonstrations of real-world operations: energy monitoring, high-speed pick-and-place, assembly automation, performance benchmarking.
  • Engage visitors actively through interactive displays, real-time data visuals, and technology tied to sustainability metrics.
  • Differentiate by bringing together Emerson’s portfolio under a single coherent story tailored to packaging OEMs and brand-owners looking for future-ready automation solutions.

STAR Solution

Working with Emerson’s event and marketing teams, STAR delivered a turnkey exhibit experience aligned with these objectives:

Coherent Exhibit Design & Storyline

STAR and Emerson collaborated to translate the company’s “Floor to Cloud™” automation story into a clear, visitor-friendly layout using color, spatial flow, and product placement to guide attendees through the brand’s portfolio. The design strategy relied on color-coded zones to represent the different stages of connected automation — from sensors on the packaging floor to software and cloud analytics.

The exhibit achieved its broader goal: to demonstrate Emerson’s automation journey in a compact, accessible format that worked within space and budget constraints.

Immersive Demonstration Areas

STAR supported Emerson’s live demos:

  • An “Operations Control Tower” display visualizing connected-asset performance and energy consumption.
  • A ballpoint-pen assembly station demonstrating high-performance automation components and real-time energy-use metrics (via QR code) tied into the narrative of efficiency.
  • A high-speed pick-and-place demo showing how Emerson solutions reduce cycle time, energy consumption and maintenance costs.

STAR coordinated the equipment logistics, booth flows, and interactive content to ensure visitors could both see and engage with Emerson’s message.

Logistics & Modular Efficiency

Given Emerson’s broad scope and equipment-rich display, STAR applied a modular build strategy that enabled efficient shipping, flexible layout, and quick build/tear-down while maintaining high-impact visuals. The strategy supported quick setup and operational reliability during show hours.

Content and Engagement Tools

To reinforce the “Floor to Cloud™” theme, STAR helped integrate digital engagement tools—interactive screens, QR-code linking to case studies and product detail pages, and live data dashboards. This enabled Emerson to extend the visitor experience beyond the booth into ongoing lead-nurture programs.

Impact of the trade show exhibit

Heat mapping data clearly showed the number of visitors at each area of the booth, how long they stayed, and the route they took — providing clear directional insights for future booth flow improvements. Despite the creative challenges, the exhibit delivered measurable engagement and visibility:

  • 99,813 walk-bys and 125,918 total brand impressions, resulting in 331,000 minutes of time-in-view across the show floor.
  • An average dwell time of 18.6 minutes — well above the Pack Expo benchmark for industrial exhibitors.
  • The exhibit achieved an Awareness score of 94 and an Attraction score of 85, indicating high visibility and consistent booth activity.
  • Conversion score of 88 highlighted Emerson’s strong ability to turn passerby traffic into meaningful booth interactions.
  • The average Journey score of 72 reflected steady visitor progression but also underscored opportunities to enhance full-booth engagement through better spatial storytelling.

Together, these findings show that even within creative and spatial constraints, Emerson’s modular design strategy effectively balanced brand presence, engagement, and operational efficiency — while generating valuable behavioral insights to refine next year’s exhibit experience.

Conclusion

At Pack Expo 2025, Emerson translated its advanced automation portfolio into a clear, accessible narrative for packaging industry leaders. With STAR’s support, the company delivered a high-impact, immersive exhibit that not only demonstrated its “Floor to Cloud™” capabilities but also reinforced its reputation as a strategic partner for manufacturers looking to leverage automation, data and performance to drive growth.
