When Red Wing Shoes needed a new exhibit for the industrial safety shows the company attends, it knew just where to turn: Star. And Star knew exactly what to do to make the 100-year-old footwear company shine.

To ensure the exhibit echoed Red Wing’s meticulously designed retail stores, Star featured many of the same quality details found in the stores. From leather chairs and checkerboard carpet squares to the metal handles used on all the cabinets, the exhibit is a true homage to Red Wing excellence—a standard that transcends the test of time.

The exhibit debuted to rave reviews at the 2017 Offshore Technology Conference in two side-by-side 20 x 20 foot exhibit spaces. But to ensure just the right fit no matter the trade show, Star designed an extra-versatile, modular exhibit that can quickly and easily flex from 30 x 50 feet to 10 x 10 feet. And thanks to the use of steel and magnets, Red Wing can add, reconfigure or remove shelves, hooks and other hardware to adapt the booth to changing needs. The towers can flex from 8 feet tall to 16 feet tall, depending on needs.

To increase engagement, the exhibit features a variety of ways for show attendees to interact with Red Wing products. They can step on the iStep machine to ensure the perfect fit for Red Wing shoes, boots and even insoles, which can be invaluable when exploring a trade show; test the anti-fog capabilities of Red Wing’s protective eyewear by standing in fog; and assess their own dexterity by assembling Red Wing nuts, bolts, valves and chains.

The exhibit also makes it easy for show attendees to engage in one-on-one conversations with Red Wing representatives, either in the main exhibit or its more private mezzanine, which is surrounded by colorful, life-size photos of industrial workers in a variety of real-life, on-the-job settings.
