Extreme sports call for extreme engagement.
The 2017 X Games welcomed more than 110,000 extreme sports enthusiasts to Minneapolis’ US Bank Stadium for four days of ridiculous skateboard, motocross, snowmobile stunts and more—including the concurrent “X Fest,” a nearby outdoor sports and music festival featuring live music, product displays and athlete meet-and-greet sessions.
As host of the event, ESPN wanted to feature 3M, one of Minnesota’s most famous brands.
To enable the multinational company to demo its high-performance vehicle-wrapping films that turn cars into head-turning stand-outs, ESPN asked Star to design, fabricate and install a souped-up garage. The garage, which featured a slick, metallic façade using corrugated steel created an eye-catching counterpoint to US Bank Stadium and helped capture the attention of all fans, even the most extreme.
